Folklore Museum of Salamis

The Folklore Museum of the Municipality of Salamis is housed in a spacious hall in the New Town Hall - Cultural Centre and it is named after the Salaminian philologist, folklorist, and researcher Peter Fourikis.

The exhibition includes regional costumes of the residents of Salamis from 300 years ago, household utensils, tools of different professions and various ceramic and bronze objects of everyday life.

The museum's collection also includes weapons of 1821 which highlight the glorious history of Salamis, images of the post-Byzantine period, sacred vessels and ecclesiastical items, rare documents of the 18th and 19th centuries, many photographs from the 1850's and forward, paintings and traditional musical instruments.
